Recent Buys

It’s been a while since I last did a “recent buys” post but I’ve definitely been buying stuff…. so here’s an update. Some of these are influenced by the fact that I’ve been trying to eat a little bit more responsibly, given how much I am active… post on that coming Monday.

These Nuun tablets are awesome. I’ve been buying them in bulk for a while. Basically they’re flavor tabs full of electrolytes that you can drop into water, they dissolve, and bam, you have a thirst-quenching drink to slam. I like these a lot because they make me more inclined to actually drink as much water as I should, and they have no sugar so they’re not nasty and syrupy like Gatorade. Well, maybe you like Gatorade. Then you wouldn’t like these.  I love my coconut water, but it can be tough to find the brand that I like and carry it around with me all day. With these, it’s really easy to keep a packet of tabs in my pole/gym bag and just drop them into a water bottle! You can find them on Amazon here.
Okay, another protein shake that totally doesn’t suck. This one is Orgain, and it’s Mocha flavored. And I actually LIKE it! These are made with whey and milk protein concentrates, whereas the Arbonne ones that I had posted earlier are vegetable proteins. I still keep both around to switch up the flavors, but whey protein is more easily absorbed by the body then vegetable, although sometimes people can have funny (read, noisy) side effects when they ingest whey protein. However, the nice thing about Orgain is that it has an ingredient list with things that you can actually pronounce, and has less weird chemicals then a lot of protein shakes out there. I like the convenience of having something ready-mixed that I can bring with me, and on days that I’m shaking after a serious workout with my trainer, this is crucial. I’ve heard the other flavors aren’t so bad either. You can buy these on Amazon here.
I did this a while ago, but never shared it. See all those little things over there? See the quarter up top? These are all my grip aids in handy, airline-safe, tiny, cute containers that also take up VERY little room in my pole bag! It’s freaking awesome. You wouldn’t believe how heavy carrying 98247839 different kinds of grip can get. I’m usually totally loaded up because you never know what kind of grip situation you will be in. Not pictured is my handy travel-sized spray bottle (it was really a tester) from Dew Point. I’m a sucker for little cute containers, and having them all fit in a little bag I can throw in my carry-on or in my pole bag is really handy. These containers are all from Muji but if you’re into this, I’m sure you could find a local source that has small bottles and tubes that you can stuff stuff into.
