Thursday Tips: Hip Figure 8s
Nemesis trick: Figure Eight Hips
This is a move from the more zexy side of pole. It’s a relatively simple transitional/filler move, but I feel like it’s a basic that everyone should have in their arsenal, and if you’re really feeling the song then you can get into the whole hip pendulum back and forth movement and it’s a lot of fun. That, and it’s hypnotizing when viewed from the back.
The tutorial is pretty self-explanatory, so take a look and let me know if you have any questions! To watch the video directly on YouTube, click here.
Tomorrow’s post: Personal Style- Marlo Fisken…

I love how you break the moves down, since I’m zexually retarded;) On the strength side, I usually feel more competent, but then I get to the floor moves, which are obviously more sensual and all goes to hell in a hand basket=)
I think that it’s great to challenge yourself to try new things, even if they feel strange or awkward at first. I think this is one of those moves that look super simple but is actually pretty hard to do fluidly. Keep working on it, it’ll be gorgeous in no time
Love this! It’s a fundamental move that gets over-looked in regular classes. Thanks for the awesome breakdown. Already plans for stealing some of your vernacular….
I agree Trixie, and I actually get a lot of requests from people who have seen me do it and want to learn it. Easy to forget that it’s some of the simplest looking stuff that students gravitate towards! Steal away, I know you will give me appropriate credit–”Aerial Amy, creatress of videos divine” could be appropriate… hahaha
